Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to service and repair trucks and trailers, ensuring equipment is safe and reliable for daily operations.

The role requires CDL or mechanic certification, 2–4 years of experience, and the ability to read driver inspection reports. You will work with the fleet team in a fast-paced environment, performing welds and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of mechanic/maintenance experience.
• Mechanic certification and/or CDL license may be required.
• Must read and understand driver inspection reports.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Must have personal hand tools for heavy equipment work.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Responds to maintenance requests from drivers, safety coordinator, DOT coordinator, shop foreperson, transportation supervisor, and fleet manager.
• Maintains and repairs trucks and trailers to DOT specifications.
• Conducts periodic inspections and diagnoses problems to eliminate unsafe conditions.
• Performs annual vehicle inspections and admissions tests per state regulations.
• Operates arc and MIG weld equipment.
