Job summary

Driving Academy is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain a fleet of 35-40 trucks and buses. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, repair components, and ensure DOT compliance.

Travel between New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania may be required; this is a 1099 independent contractor position. You should have deep diesel knowledge, experience with diagnostic tools, and the ability to read manuals and work orders.

• Extensive diesel maintenance and repair expertise.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair software.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex faults.
• Ability to read manuals and work orders effectively.
• Willingness to travel between NJ and eastern PA for access to vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctioning components or systems in trucks/buses.
• Performs routine maintenance such as oil changes and battery checks.
• Disassembles/overhauls engines, transmissions, and related parts.
• Replaces tires, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves as needed.
• Maintains records of service and repairs for the fleet.
• Operates CDL vehicles to move equipment within locations.
