Job summary

Merrell Bros., Inc. Indy Disposal Solutions in Speedway, IN is seeking a full-time Diesel Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 tractors and trailers. A CDL is a plus and experience with diesel systems and diagnostics is preferred.

You will inspect and service vehicles, perform DOT safety checks, document records, and collaborate with the team to keep equipment running safely in varied weather and work environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of diesel technician and/or maintenance experience.
• Preventive maintenance expertise.
• Computer diagnostic skills and familiarity with shop equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Deadline- and detail-oriented with ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs on trucks and trailers.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance on semi-trucks/trailers.
• Perform DOT inspections including safety and brake checks.
• Perform scheduled service and oil changes.
• Collaborate with repair team to diagnose and plan repairs.
• Perform electrical system repairs and diagnostic tests.
• Document vehicle records manually and via computer.
• Ensure PPE compliance and safety procedures.

Ideal candidates for this Technician opening will have experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy Class 8 (Tractor Trailers), knowledge of PM requirements, a CDL License is a plus!This position specializes in operation and maintenance of a semi transport tractor and trailer. Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots problems on vehicles.
