Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking a skilled mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair a wide range of diesel and gasoline powered equipment and trucks. The role includes field repairs, vehicle delivery, and working in diverse environments.

A High School diploma, five years of experience, and a Texas Class C license are required, with CDL-B opportunity after six months. Must provide own tools and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License, Class C; ability to obtain Class B CDL within 6 months.
• Five years of maintenance and repair experience on motorized equipment.
• Own tools and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Ability to read and follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in motorized equipment.
• Performs emergency repairs in the field.
• Overhauls motors, clutches, transmissions, hydraulic/electrical systems, pumps and brakes.
• Crawls under and climbs on vehicles for repairs and inspections.
• Delivers vehicles and ensures proper work orders.
• Works indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Maintains labor and materials records on work orders.
