Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking an Automotive Maintenance Technician to service and repair light-duty vehicles for municipal fleets. You must own a set of hand tools and work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance per manufacturer specs, diagnosing and repairing, and responding to roadside calls. You will conduct road tests, coordinate parts, and maintain a clean shop while adhering to city safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Combination of education and experience equivalent to four years as an Automotive Maintenance Technician.
• EPA 609 Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• ASE Certifications A4 and A5 or two additional years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance to manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnoses, repairs, and orders parts for light-duty vehicle and equipment systems.
• Responds to roadside calls.
• Conducts road and static tests to verify repairs.
• Takes and picks up vehicles from outside vendors for repairs and services.
• Maintains a clean and orderly shop.
• Follows the city policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
