Job summary

TransDirectUSA is seeking a mobile service technician to inspect, diagnose, and maintain Class 8 tractors and trailers. You will operate a service truck, manage parts, and travel to client locations mainly in Western New York.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, brake certifications, and strict adherence to FMCSR guidelines. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with potential overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of technical experience with Class 8 Commercial Tractors and Trailers.
• Air Brake Systems Certification desirable.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot repairs using diagnostic systems.
• Familiar with FMCSR inspections and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventive and as-needed maintenance of diesel trucks and electronic vehicles.
• Operate the mobile service truck and manage truck inventory.
• Travel to locations to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance.
• Communicate service requirements and costs to management with detailed breakdowns.
• Maintain schedules and document completed maintenance and repairs.
• Repair or replace defective parts or systems; test to ensure compliance with manufacturer specs.

• Minimum 2 years of previous technical experience with Class 8 Commercial Tractors and Trailers.
• Air Brake Systems Certification.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot repairs using diagnostic systems
• ASE Certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general mechanical operation and/or light body repair
• Familiar with FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), and FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations), BIT (Basic Inspection of Terminals) inspections
• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• Must be able to lift 70 pounds
• Candidate must provide his/her own tools.

Job Description:Work Schedule

• Monday- Friday
• Work 8:00am-4:00pm; work until work is completed. Typically 8-10 hours per day.
• Some overnight travel to service locations (primarily Western New York) based on business needs.
• Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible with work schedule.Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals
• Travel to locations to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with management, providing them with detailed breakdowns of service requirements and costs.
• Maintain schedules and document completed preventative maintenance and repairs
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer's specifications according to FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations)
• Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
