Job summary

Frito-Lay is seeking Fleet Technicians in Perry, GA to maintain and repair our diverse vehicle fleet. You will diagnose mechanical issues, handle preventative maintenance, manage parts and bill labor to work orders.

CDL is required, you must be able to lift 50 pounds and work 8–12 hour shifts with or without accommodations. We offer a $3,000 sign-on bonus (based on performance and eligibility), comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) with company contribution, vacation, tool and boot allowances,

Qualifications

• CDL required and valid.
• Able to lift 50 pounds or more with or without accommodation.

• You may be required to work weekends and holidays.
• 2 years of previous technical experience with Class 8 tractors and trailers.
• Air Brake Systems Certification.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot using diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fleet vehicles, diagnose mechanical issues, and manage parts inventory.
• Charge parts and labor to work orders and perform preventative maintenance inspections.
• Perform demand work such as brakes, u-joints/bearings, steering, suspension, and engine-related repairs.
• Assist entry-level mechanics with difficult repairs and return vehicles to the traffic center (CDL required).
• Build relationships with vendors for parts and labor estimates.
• Interact with drivers and other team members regularly.

You will help us maintain and repair our vehicles, diagnose mechanical issues, manage parts inventory, and charge parts and labor to work orders. • The make-up of the fleet is comprised of diesel, CNG, and electric vehicles. You will be responsible for maintaining CNG Cummins ISX 12L, Volvo D13 XE, Allison 4000, Volvo I Shift, Eaton ultra shift, Freightliner Cascadia, multiple Volvo models and multiple trailer platforms.
• You will manage day-to-day activities such as preventative maintenance inspections, and proactive/follow-up repairs.
• You will perform demand work, including but not limited to brakes, u-joints/bearings, steering/suspension, starting/charging, emissions/drivability diagnosis, and light engine repair such as water pumps, injectors, and fuel pumps.
• You will use your extensive knowledge to assist entry-level mechanics with difficult repairs.
• Return vehicles to the traffic center (CDL required).
• You will build relationships with vendors when getting estimates for parts or labor.
• You will interact with a variety of Frito-Lay drivers, from professional truck drivers to salespeople.
• This is a physical job which often involves working in tight spaces under vehicles.

This is an experienced position that requires a CDL. Here are our minimum requirements for you to consider prior to filling out our application:

• You are at least 21 years of age or older
• You may be required to work on weekends, holidays as well as off shift
• You have a valid CDL
• You can lift 50 pounds or more with or without a reasonable accommodation

• 2 years of previous technical experience with Class 8 Commercial Tractors and Trailers
