United Rentals, Inc. in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic — Experienced (Service Tech IV) to maintain and repair complex equipment with minimal supervision. You’ll work on rental and customer equipment, ensuring safety and reliability across tasks.

The role requires 5+ years of repair experience, a valid driver's license, and owning the necessary tools. Travel to job sites, mentor junior technicians, and uphold high service standards are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with independence.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

As a Diesel Mechanic - Experienced (Service Tech IV), you'll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. What you'll do:

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment
• When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
