Job summary

Reyes Family of Businesses seeks a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to maintain and repair our tractor and trailer equipment at our Martin Brower shop in Enfield, CT. Join a large private fleet with competitive pay and a strong benefits package.

The role offers a full-time shift Monday through Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm, with pay between $35.00-$40.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications. CDL preferred and a current DOT compliance record are required in some locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 plus years of related experience.
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles.
• Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations.
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review
