Job summary

Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Illinois to diagnose faults and repair engine, steering, transmission, braking and related systems on our commercial vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, maintaining parts inventory, test driving vehicles to gauge performance, and ensuring compliance with DOT inspection procedures. Local travel is required in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a mechanic with emphasis in diesel engines and/or commercial motor vehicles is preferred.
• Certified Diesel Tech preferred and/or related certifications are desirable.
• Knowledge of diagnostic testing on vehicles and engines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze/troubleshoot and repair vehicles & commercial motor vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles & commercial motor vehicles.
• Maintain parts & inventory.
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Test drive vehicles to gauge performance.
• Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist (Annual DOT Inspection) on Commercial Motor Vehicles.
• Ensure cleanliness of the shop.
