Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic on trucks, buses, or heavy equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Hands-on experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and heavy equipment repairs.
- Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and engine controls.
- Familiarity with transmissions, air brake systems, and drivetrain components.
- Proficiency using diagnostic software and computerized troubleshooting tools.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Diagnose problems using advanced diagnostic software, testing equipment, and hand tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Repair, rebuild, and overhaul diesel engines and engine components.
- Service and repair transmissions, air brakes, hydraulic systems, and other critical components.
- Troubleshoot engine performance concerns and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and shop best practices when working around heavy equipment.
- Utilize industry-leading tools, technology, and diagnostic equipment to perform efficient repairs.
- Communicate repair needs, equipment status, and timelines with supervisors and team members.
