Diesel Mechanic - County Materials (Maintenance)

County Materials Corporation is a leading manufacturer and trusted industry resource for concrete construction and landscape products. For more than 75 years, their products have been used to build the communities where Americans live, work, and play.

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our customer, County Materials Corporation in Roberts, WI.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; Day shift

Compensation: $23.00 - $35.00/hr. Based on experience.

Job Duties
  1. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment.
  2. Schedule and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on equipment as needed.
  3. Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times and properly documented.
  4. Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of equipment.
  5. Perform general-purpose steel fabrication and welding.
  6. Read and interpret equipment manuals for repairs and servicing.
  7. Use hand and power tools, electric meters, material handling equipment, welders, and torches.
  8. Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  9. Obtain quotes on parts and supplies and install parts as needed.
  10. Communicate with vendors for proper maintenance and installation of equipment.
  11. Coordinate with dispatch and shop staff to schedule maintenance.
Work Environment
  • Indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Near moving machinery and equipment, including electrical hazards.
  • In a noisy environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, crouching, kneeling, bending.
  • Pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder.
  • Lifting/carrying 10-40 pounds.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in diesel mechanics.
  • Proactive, multi-tasking, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude.
  • Strong hydraulic, mechanical, welding, and industrial experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
