Salem Leasing is seeking Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers and other vehicles at our Orlando-area locations. Join a team known for its commitment to people and safety, with pay negotiable based on location and experience.

You will examine vehicles, repair brakes, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot diesel systems while ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA guidelines. This role requires own tools and the ability to work in extreme temperatures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• CDL license preferred.
• Good driving record & proven work history.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat & cold temperatures.
• Diagnostic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areas.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.
