Job summary

Academy Bus is seeking a full-time Class A Senior Bus Mechanic for the Clearwater, FL location. The role reports to supervision on the PM shift and includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining modern tour buses, conducting road tests, documenting repairs, and performing diagnostics with specialized equipment. 7+ years of diesel experience and supervisory skills are required.

Qualifications

• Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
• Inspections and road tests
• Warranty and repair documentation
• Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of various bus components
• Respond to road calls
• Basic welding/fabrication
• Class A Mechanics will train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners
• 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment (DDEC, ATEC, SmarTire)
• Must have supervisory skills and experience
• Ability to use hand and power tools and testing instruments
• Must have own tools
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• CDL with Passenger and Airbrake a plus (willing to obtain)

Description

Academy Busis seeking a full-time Class A- Senior Bus Mechanic with road service experience for the PM shiftfor ourClearwater, FL location. $2500 Sign on bonus.

2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Pay Range: $28.00-$35.00 per hour. Pay rate will be based on candidate experience level.

• Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
• Inspections and road tests
• Warranty and repair documentation
• Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly andcleaning of components such as:brakes, suspension, tires,bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages.
• Respond to road calls
• Basic welding/fabrication
• Class A Mechanics will train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners.
• 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment
• Must have supervisory skills and experience
• Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment,and testing instruments
• Must have own tools
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required, willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable.
