Job summary

Academy Bus in Clearwater, FL is seeking a full-time Class A Senior Bus Mechanic with road service experience for the PM shift. The position offers a 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm second shift and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include repairing, troubleshooting and diagnosing modern tour buses, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to road calls. Supervisory duties may apply as Class A Mechanics will train and supervise others.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance experience.
• Proficiency with diagnostic devices such as DDEC and ATEC readers.
• Supervisory skills and prior leadership experience.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment and testing instruments.
• Valid driver's license; CDL with Passenger and Airbrake is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain CDL.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot and diagnose modern tour buses.

• Conduct inspections and road tests.
• Handle warranty and repair documentation.
• Diagnose and service components like brakes, suspension, tires, etc.
• Respond to road calls.

Overview

Academy Busis seeking a full-time Class A- Senior Bus Mechanic with road service experience for the PM shift for our Clearwater, FL location. $2500 Sign on bonus.

Job Details

• Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm (Second Shift)
• Pay Range: $28.00–$35.00 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
• Inspections and road tests
• Warranty and repair documentation
• Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages
• Respond to road calls
• Basic welding/fabrication
• Class A Mechanics will train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners

Qualifications

• 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment
• Must have supervisory skills and experience
• Proven ability to use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments
• Must have own tools
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable
