Job summary

Claiborne Hauling, LLC in Knoxville, TN seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty Class 8 trucks to keep our fleet safe and on the road.

You will work in a fast-paced shop, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and documenting service actions with attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience repairing Class 8/heavy-duty diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
• Strong diesel, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and software.
• Knowledge of air brake, suspension, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Ability to safely use shop tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail.
• CDL and applicable certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine issues on Class 8 trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine services.
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic software, tools, and equipment to accurately identify issues.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.
• Identify additional maintenance or repair needs during inspections.
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety procedures and established maintenance practices.
