Summary of Position:

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components, and systems on heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to maximize safety and productivity, including reviewing DVIRs and repair orders.
  2. Communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
  3. Complete all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
  4. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe work area complying with standards.
  6. Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failures and initiate repairs.
  7. Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  8. Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, hydraulic inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Proficient in diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
  • Ability to estimate repair times and materials.
  • Ability to guide and assist other technicians and helpers.
  • CDL Class B preferred within 12 months; no CDL required initially.
Other Responsibilities:

Attend training, stay updated on technology, and perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Physical and Work Environment:

Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Work involves exposure to chemicals, waste, and extreme temperatures. The environment is both inside and outside.
