DIESEL MECHANIC B - Fort Pierce - 2nd Shift (2pm-10pm)

Position Details
  • Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy and light trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems.
  • May include welding and fabrication.
Essential Job Functions
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to maximize safe and productive operations.
  • Communicate with managers/drivers regarding vehicle issues and discuss preventive techniques.
  • Complete all required paperwork promptly.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with standards.
  • Utilize vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
  • Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  • Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Proficient in diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
  • Ability to estimate repair times and materials.
  • Experience guiding assistant technicians and shop helpers.
  • CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in training courses as assigned.
  • Stay current with technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work in extreme temperatures, and perform physical tasks repeatedly.
  • Work inside and outside, exposed to weather conditions.
