Overview

Title of Position: Diesel/Truck Mechanic

Shift: 1st Shift Location: Downingtown, PA

Signing Bonus:

  • Mechanic Ranking: $15,000 (Paid in $3,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, and 365 days)
  • B Mechanic Ranking: $10,000 (Paid in $2,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, and 365 days)
  • C Mechanic Ranking: $4,000 (Paid in two $2,000 installments at 90 and 180 days)

What does a Silvi Materials Diesel/Truck Mechanic do?

  • Maintain a safe and professional working environment
  • Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment
  • Remove, repair, rebuild, or replace assemblies and parts on trucks and equipment
  • Perform electrical work including wiring and starter rebuilding
  • Repair and adjust electrical sensors and computerized systems according to standards
  • Diagnose computerized fuel management and ignition systems
  • Weld broken assemblies as needed
  • Use, store, and record equipment and materials properly
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Prepare reports on work performed
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment
  • Respond to road service calls using a company vehicle

Qualifications Required:

  • Valid CDL-A or CDL-B license
  • Pass DOT physical and drug screening
  • At least 3 years of fleet/transportation repair experience
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform maintenance in a garage or field setting

Physical Demands:

  • Handling objects, tools, and controls
  • Standing, kneeling, crawling, and reaching
  • Hearing, seeing details, and quick adjustments
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds and physical activity for extended periods
