Overview

Title of Position: Diesel/Truck Mechanic

Shift: 1st Shift | Location: Downingtown, PA

Signing Bonus:

• A Mechanic Ranking: $15,000 (Paid in $3,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, and 365 days)
• B Mechanic Ranking: $10,000 (Paid in $2,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, and 365 days)
• C Mechanic Ranking: $4,000 (Paid in two $2,000 installments at 90 and 180 days)

What does a Silvi Materials Diesel/Truck Mechanic do?

• Maintain a safe and professional working environment
• Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment
• Repair, rebuild, or replace assemblies and sub-assemblies on trucks and equipment
• Perform electrical work, including wiring and sensor repairs
• Diagnose computerized systems and perform necessary repairs
• Weld broken assemblies as needed
• Use, store, and record equipment and materials properly
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Prepare reports on work performed
• Utilize diagnostic equipment
• Respond to road service calls using a company vehicle

Qualifications Required:

• Valid CDL-A or CDL-B license
• Pass a DOT physical and drug screen
• At least 3 years of fleet/transportation repair experience
• Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and safety regulations
• Ability to perform maintenance in a garage or field setting

Physical Demands:

• Use hands for handling objects and tools
• Stand, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods
• Hear and recognize sounds
• Make precise adjustments and handle small objects
• Lift, push, pull heavy objects
• Support body with lower back muscles
• Bend, reach, and move limbs as needed
• Visual acuity for close and color vision
• Physical activity for extended periods
