PAY : $30.25 / HR BASED ON EXPERIENCE (OPPORTUNITY FOR ADDITIONAL PAY INCENTIVES FOR ASE CUMMINS CERTIFICATIONS & CDL)

SIGN ON BONUS : $5000

SHIFT : 3RD 3PM-11:30PM

TOOL ALLOWANCE : $2000 / YEAR

I. Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services, inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipment.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Works under limited supervision, selecting instructions and procedures to accomplish tasks.
  • Performs repairs and preventive maintenance services.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Uses vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimates time and material costs and requisitions parts.
  • Performs work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Performs emergency breakdown service calls.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
  • Completes paperwork using fleet maintenance software, documenting parts and repair times.
  • Assists senior Mechanics with project work.
  • Reviews or assigns repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards and safety procedures.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory duties.

IV. Qualifications

The following are necessary to perform this job:

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Not required.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements with or without accommodations.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug and physical screening.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

  • None required.

Environmental and work conditions include exposure to physical risks, dirt, noise, weather extremes, and requiring motor coordination and physical effort.

Normal work setting is in a repair/maintenance shop.
