Job summary

A. Duie Pyle is seeking an experienced 3rd shift Diesel Mechanic to join our Fleet Maintenance team at our Johnston, RI shop. The role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty Class 8 trucks.

Requirements include 2+ years of Class 8 truck repair experience, vocational diesel training or equivalent, and tools for heavy truck work. Must be able to work independently with a positive, can-do attitude. Benefits include insurance, PTO, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience repairing/maintaining Class 8 trucks
• A complete set of hand tools for heavy truck repair
• Vocational or Technical Training in diesel/heavy-duty vehicle experience; HS Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Willingness to learn and grow your abilities
• Ability to work independently with a “can-do” attitude

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general repairs on Class 8 trucks
• Troubleshooting and repairing brakes, air systems, electrical components, suspension systems, etc.
• Diagnosing and performing necessary repairs to the engine, electrical, and exhaust after-treatment systems
• Inspecting and replacing general components as required
