Position Summary:

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining heavy and support equipment at transfer stations and material-recovery facilities, ensuring safety and professionalism.

Your Role:
  • Troubleshoot heavy equipment.
  • Perform welding repairs.
  • Maintain and repair various heavy equipment, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems.
  • Contribute to safety and health improvements in the workplace.
  • Participate in all company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance per company policies and legal standards.
  • Adapt to changing duties based on business needs.
Your Skills:
  • Proficient with vehicle maintenance tools such as hand, electric, pneumatic tools, and electronic testing equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of reading and understanding service manuals.
  • Ability to prepare clear work orders and completion sheets.
  • Work effectively in various weather conditions.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver's License; CDL B is a plus.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • ASE Certification.
  • Tow Motor and Air Brake certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated mechanical skills.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a transport environment.
  • Gritty, outgoing, eager to learn.
  • Proactive, hardworking, highly organized, and able to think critically independently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:
