Position Summary

The Diesel Mechanic will troubleshoot, inspect, clean, and maintain heavy and support equipment at transfer stations and material recovery facilities, ensuring safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot heavy equipment issues.
• Perform welding tasks.
• Maintain and repair heavy machinery, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems.
• Promote safety and health improvements in the workplace.
• Participate in company meetings, including weekly safety briefings.
• Maintain punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
• Adapt to changing duties based on business needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient with vehicle maintenance tools and electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Read and interpret service manuals.
• Prepare work orders and completion schedules.
• Work effectively in various weather conditions.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Driver's License; CDL B is a plus.
• Own tools required.
• ASE Certification.
• Additional certifications such as Tow Motor and Air Brake are advantageous.
• 2-5 years of experience in a transport environment.
• Gritty, outgoing, eager to learn, proactive, organized, and independent thinker.

Physical Demands

Must be able to:
