Job summary

SST Direct in Middletown, DE is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a direct-hire role. You will inspect and repair heavy-duty trucks, perform maintenance, and document service history.

The shift is M-F, 7am-5pm, with compensation of $38-$45 per hour and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and PTO. CDL is preferred or obtainable; ASE certification is a plus; 5+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Technical training in diesel mechanics (preferred).
• Certification such as ASE is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair.
• CDL is preferred or able to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trucks, trailers, and related systems to identify issues.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Repair or replace defective parts (engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions).
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks).
• Test drive vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain detailed service records and reports.
• Follow safety standards and regulations (e.g., DOT compliance).

Pay: $38hr - $45hr (depending on experience)
