Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on truck-tractors, semi-cargo tank trailers, and related shop equipment. Your role ensures equipment is maintained in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner while maintaining complete and accurate records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Troubleshoot and repair systems and components of truck-tractors and semi-cargo tank trailers.
2. Use power and hand tools to replace or repair defective components.
3. Apply welding skills to vehicle repairs when necessary.
4. Maintain maintenance records in compliance with company policies and regulations.
5. Perform FHWA inspections, brake maintenance, tire maintenance, and HM-183 inspections.
6. Diagnose and repair electronic powertrain components and trailer ABS systems.
7. Provide guidance and training to Level B and C technicians.
8. Assume supervisory duties temporarily to maintain operational workflow.
9. Ensure a safe work environment and follow cargo tank entry procedures.
10. Work shifts as assigned, including days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience: 2-3 years of heavy truck maintenance experience preferred.
3. Must possess a valid driver’s license and own hand tools.
4. Ability to operate computer systems effectively.
5. Must pass a pre-employment physical to meet essential job functions.
