Salary: $25-$40 Hourly

Job Summary

As a Diesel Mechanic at Huntzberry Brothers, Inc., you should possess the ability to perform your work with limited direction and have the knowledge to perform, prepare, install, and maintain trucks and equipment. You will work with our staff in a safe and effective manner to ensure the timely completion of repairs and maintenance on our fleet of trucks and equipment. Safety is our #1 priority!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems of heavy-duty trucks, vehicles, and other construction equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tune-ups, etc.
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components as needed
  • Maintain positive communication with service department, supervisors, and clients
  • Maintain functional condition by listening to operator complaints and repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions
  • Provide onsite repair assistance when required
  • Prepare proper documentation of actions taken
  • Ensure conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
  • Collaborate effectively with service, department, peers, and clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems
  • Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of equipment safety protocols
  • Must have a basic set of mechanic's hand tools
  • Ability to work on various types and brands of equipment
  • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull over 50 lbs., tolerate exposure to loud noise, dust, and toxic materials, and work outdoors in heat and other elements
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; CDL is a plus
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
