  • Technician In Charge positions pay weekly
  • Hourly pay: $38.00 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 per new ASE certification, up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500, four times per year
  • Toolbox/tool allowance included
  • Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
  • Hours: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm (second shift)

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational/technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Required basic tools
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines, including:
    • Preventative maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires)
    • Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
    • Major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, fuel injection repairs
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Ability to read codes and instructions on computers
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, internet
  • Minimum tool requirements
  • Ability to use computerized maintenance programs

Additional requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and meeting Ryder's driving qualifications
  • Minimum Tech II to Tech IV qualifications plus 6 months supervisory or training experience
  • Flexible schedule including shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call
  • Proficiency in SMO, SBT, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
  • Understanding of unit utilization procedures

Position requires driving Ryder vehicles; candidates must:

  • Obtain CDL within 6 months
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check

Note: Additional requirements may vary by location.

Internal candidates should have at least 6 months in current role with good performance, attendance, safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities include assisting and training technicians, customer service, providing feedback to management, overseeing parts, reporting, warranty recovery, and payroll.
