Job summary

MasterTech in Portland, OR is seeking Automotive and Fleet Technicians to join a growing maintenance and repair team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles and commercial equipment ranging from light-duty to heavy-duty applications.

This hands-on role favors experienced technicians who can work independently, diagnose issues effectively, and deliver quality repairs. It is not an entry-level position, and the successful candidate will contribute quickly and confidently.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive, fleet, diesel, or commercial vehicle technician.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

Automotive and Fleet Technicians are needed to join a growing maintenance and repair team in Portland, Oregon. This role offers the opportunity to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles and commercial equipment, ranging from light-duty vehicles to heavy-duty applications.

This is a hands‑on position suited for an experienced technician who can work independently, diagnose issues effectively, and complete quality repairs. You do not need to be a master technician or have experience with every type of equipment we service; however, this is not an entry‑level position. The ideal candidate will have enough practical, hands‑on experience to contribute quickly and confidently.

Compensation & Schedule:

$31.00 - $40.00/hour based on experience and qualifications

Preferred Requirements:

• Previous experience as an automotive, fleet, diesel, or commercial vehicle technician, with strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.


• Independently diagnose and repair common mechanical and electrical systems.


• Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on brakes, steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, wheel bearings, and other vehicle systems.


• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues and related vehicle systems.


• Complete work orders and maintain clear, accurate service documentation.


• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all required safety and PPE procedures.


• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship.


• Communicate professionally with team members and management.


• Work effectively as part of a team while being comfortable working independently.
