Qualifications

  • Must possess valid Driver's license; bonus for CDL.
  • Knowledge of Detroit Diesel engines.
  • Experience with other platforms like Cummins, CAT & International preferred.

Interstate Power System’s is looking for Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) of all skill levels for our Omaha Nebraska location. We are looking for light and heavy-duty diesel mechanics interested in working First, Second or Third shift. If you are a Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) that specializes in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU, Light Duty Diesel Ford, Chevrolet and Ram trucks we can offer you highly competitive wages, continued training, and certifications to grow your career!

Pay Range: $20.00-$45.00/hour DOE

First Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm

Second Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm

Third Shift: 11:30pm-7:30am

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Duties:

  • Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.
  • Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
  • Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
  • Meet requirements for certifications.
  • Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders)
  • Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable.
  • Must possess an excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product.
  • Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus.
  • Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train, and Automatic Transmissions.

  • Technical degree or certification a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have own set of general tools.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
