Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in North Charleston, SC.

- Technician Positions Pay Each Week
- Pay: $33.00 hourly
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Hours: Second Shift 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post-Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
- Routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems
- Advanced repairs such as major engine repairs, diesel after treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs
- Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Must be able to read codes and instructions on the computer
- Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, and related systems
- Minimum tool requirement
- Experience with computerized maintenance programs to create reports and communicate with customers, vendors, and company reps
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- All other certifications as required by location
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License and ability to meet Ryder's driving qualifications
- Minimum Tech II to Tech IV qualifications plus 6 months supervisory or training experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays, and on-call for roadside assistance
- Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll systems, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
- Understanding of unit utilization procedures
- This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
- Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle checks

Minimum 6 months in current position with good performance, attendance, safety, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist and train technicians, provide customer service, and give feedback to the Service Manager
- Oversee parts distribution, inventory, shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, payroll, and other duties as assigned
