Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Hourly Pay: $25.57 per hour
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
  • Schedule: Saturday through Wednesday
  • Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance like oil changes, brake, and tire work
  • Two or more years of classroom training and work experience, preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A, preferred
  • This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become an employee, you must:
    • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
    • Pass Ryder drug test
    • Pass DOT physical
    • Pass Ryder road test
    • Pass background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance
  • Inspect and repair components
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
  • Identify root causes and perform repairs
  • Replace defective components
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
  • Use shop management systems and electronic documentation
  • Comply with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
  • Support operations as needed, including service island duties
