Job Overview
We are looking for a proficient Diesel Mechanic to become a part of our team. The perfect candidate will have extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in diesel engine repairs, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our fleet. This position entails diagnosing problems, executing repairs, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of diesel engines and associated systems to detect issues.
- Carry out repairs on diesel engines, which includes brake repairs and general vehicle maintenance.
- Employ hand tools and equipment to perform repairs in accordance with schematics and technical specifications.
- Keep precise records of repairs, services, and parts utilized.
- Work collaboratively with team members to guarantee the timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Assist with heavy lifting and the movement of equipment as required.
- Weld components as necessary to maintain the structural integrity of vehicles.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors regarding the progress of repairs and any additional requirements.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in diesel engine repair with a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment pertinent to diesel mechanics.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for efficient troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Capacity to perform heavy lifting as necessitated by job responsibilities.
