Responsibilities
- Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
- Read job orders, observe and listen to vehicle operation to diagnose malfunctions and plan work procedures.
- Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
- Inspect protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, making adjustments as needed.
- Test-drive vehicles to ensure proper operation.
- Complete assigned service and repairs accurately.
- Adhere to safety requirements and published procedures.
- Participate in technical training as directed by management.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
- Return guest vehicles in the same condition as received.
- Follow manufacturer policies for warranty repairs, labor operations, and documentation.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Service Supervisor or management.
Qualifications
- Ability to repair various makes of engines, on-highway trucks, and trailers.
- Allison Transmission experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with computer diagnostic programs is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge of repair standards per dealer and manufacturer guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Own tools required.
- Experience with Freightliner/Western Star, Volvo/Mack, Kenworth/Peterbilt, International, or Mitsubishi.
- Experience with CAT, Detroit, Cummins, or International engines is a plus.
