Job description

Waste Connections is hiring a 2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic at our site in McKinney, Texas.

This position has a 3:00 PM start time, a 10-12 hour shift, with occasional overtime. We offer great pay, benefits, and lots of room for growth!

Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 Per Hour

Responsibilities include:
  1. Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  2. Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software, documenting parts usage and repair times.
  3. Review, complete, or assign repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  4. Perform maintenance-related work as required.
  5. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  6. Follow established safety procedures for all work.
  7. Communicate effectively regarding needed repairs or tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Preferably 2+ years of experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair, completion of a diesel tech program, or a good attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic.
  • Own tools are required.
