Craig & Landreth Cars in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Service Technician for diesel vehicles. You will start at our current dealership for training and growth. The role requires 2+ years of diesel service experience, ASE certification preferred, and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles per diagnostic and dealer specifications.
• Diagnose automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, A/C.
• Provide labor and time estimates for repairs and explain diagnoses in plain language to customers.
• Test-drive vehicles and verify repairs using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Continuously learn new technical information through training to stay updated.

Responsibilities:

• Automotive Diesel Mechanic perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on Diesel Vehicles with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Diesel automotive mechanics diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification
• Diesel Mechanics provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
• Explain diesel mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast of rapidly changing technology
• Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
