Job summary

Balkema Sitework and Development is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel engines and vehicles. The role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently in a shop environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, tire service, and fabrication/welding. Overtime or weekend work may be required based on business needs. Full-time position with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience working with diesel engines
• Proficiency in automotive repair and maintenance techniques
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Experience with tire service, including mounting, balancing, and repairing tires
• Forklift operation experience is a plus
• Ability to fabricate and weld parts as needed
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance schedules and procedures
• Proficient in the use of power tools and other equipment necessary for repairs
• Knowledge of shocks, struts, and suspension systems is preferred

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools
• Conduct inspections and perform necessary repairs on brakes, suspension, and other vehicle components
• Complete tire services including rotations, replacements, and repairs
• Fabricate and weld parts as needed for repairs or modifications
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic who is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, as well as experience with automotive diagnostics.

Please note that this position may require occasional overtime or weekend work based on business needs.

• 8-10 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Saturdays as needed
