Job summary

Jetco Delivery in Houston seeks skilled Diesel Technicians to diagnose and repair diesel engines and related powertrains. The role covers electrical, brake, HVAC, and wheel-end systems, plus routine maintenance for new equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnose diesel engines.

• Electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC, steering.
• Brake systems including ABS, suspension.
• Repair and replace 5th wheel assemblies.
• Perform maintenance and prep equipment for delivery.
• Identify parts required for repairs and document work.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs.

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, we are looking for several qualified Diesel Techicians to join our Shop team!

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years experience preferred
• Knowledge of Cummins, Freightliner, Detroit Diesel Preferred

POSITION DETAILS:

• Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of diesel engines.
• Powertrain: including differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's, and wheel ends.
• Electrical systems: including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering systems.
• Brake systems: including ABS, suspension systems (spring and air).
• 5th wheel: including repairing and replacing 5th wheel assembly.
• Perform mechanical and general appearance reconditioning and prepare new equipment for delivery.
• Identify and determine parts required for repairs.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance service on truck and trailer equipment.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on the repair order.
• Maintain work appearance and safety.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Other projects/ repairs as assigned.
