Job summary

First Student in Harvey, LA is hiring a Diesel Technician for our shop serving Jefferson Parish. This full-time day-shift role features a $2,000 sign-on bonus, Monday–Friday schedule, and an hourly wage of $29.00–$34.00 based on experience.

• Experience with diesel engines and school bus maintenance.

• Perform diesel engine maintenance and repairs on the school bus fleet.
• Ensure safety and reliability of vehicles and systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

Pay Details: Dependent on experience and qualifications. Hourly Rate: $29.00 – $34.00 per hour (NOT flat rate). Pay based on experience. Bonus rate increase available for each ASE School Bus Series test passed and maintained (up to $2/hour more). Monday–Friday day shift schedule with consistent, year-round work.
