Job summary

RNInk in Harbor Beach, MI seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join the Service Department. You will diagnose, repair and modify diesel trucks with emphasis on Duramax, using our machine shop and custom parts to deliver high-quality work.

Applicants should have 3+ years of diesel diagnostic and repair experience, strong mechanical/electronic skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision while guiding junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 3+ years diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks/heavy equipment
• Strong diagnostic ability across mechanical and electronic systems
• Experience with R&R for engines/transmissions
• Certifications preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, fuel, air, cooling, and drivability issues.
• Perform major repairs, preventive maintenance, component installations, and approved performance modifications.
• Develop repair strategies using diagnostic data, service information, specs, and hands-on experience.
• Identify root causes instead of replacing parts based on symptoms.
• Own assigned jobs from inspection through testing, documentation and final release.
• Evaluate findings and explain work; obtain customer authorization when needed.
• Perform final quality-control checks meeting DHD standards.
• Prevent repeat failures through disciplined diagnosis, installation and validation.
• Provide technical guidance to other technicians as needed.
• Help improve shop procedures, diagnostic methods, workflow and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of findings, labor, test results, parts, approvals and completion status.

We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to work in our Service Department in Harbor Beach, MI (Top of the thumb).

This role is built for someone with strong diesel expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to solve difficult mechanical problems without constant direction. You’ll handle advanced diagnostics, major repairs, performance modifications, and quality control across diesel trucks with a heavy focus on Duramax. • Competitive Salary Range $35-45/hr
