- Hourly Pay: $35.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year
- Reefer experience required
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
- Hours: First shift 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
- Major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs
- Four or more years of relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Other certifications as required by location
Additional requirements:
- Ability to perform all T3 tasks
- Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Availability to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duties
- Prefer ASE certification in PM, brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics, or ASE master mechanic
- Proficiency in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment
- Minimum tool requirements
- Ability to road test vehicles as necessary
- Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others
- This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
- Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle check

Responsibilities
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
- Complete OEM online diagnostic courses as required (within 365 days)
- Complete instructor-led OEM courses as needed
- Perform vehicle maintenance, preventive, and complex repairs with minimal support
- Access and use maintenance documents
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical/electronic issues
- Perform remote triage for roadside breakdowns
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
- Instruct and advise other technicians
- Coach and mentor other technicians
- Advise management on repairs
- Use shop management systems and documentation
- Follow safety, DOT, MOT, and compliance guidelines
- Support operations as needed, including service island support
