BECOME A GSE MECHANIC II!

As a GSE Mechanic Level II, your primary responsibility will be repairing and maintaining both motorized and non-motorized Airline & Aircraft Ground Service Equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, pushbacks, trucks, and more. In this role, you will carry out advanced maintenance and repairs on a wide range of ground support equipment.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A GSE MECHANIC II

  1. Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid and compressed air
  2. Log equipment numbers to be repaired with description of work to be done on each piece
  3. Inspect, Maintain, Troubleshoot, Replace, Repair, Overhaul or Modify:
    1. Engines and transmissions
    2. Electrical systems
    3. Brakes and braking systems
    4. Hydraulic and pneumatic systems on mobile lift and conveyor systems
    5. Bumpers and body work
    6. Bag cart curtains & curtain rods
    7. Towing hitches and towing bars
    8. Undercarriages, wheels and tires
    9. Bushings, shafts, end plates, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hose and wiring
  4. Diagnose, Troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, industry standards and safety regulations
  5. Remove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and auditory sensors
  6. Check and adjust tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches and drive shafts
  7. Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals
  8. Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment
  9. Completed associated paperwork and track parts
  10. Exceed PrimeFlight customer service expectations
  11. Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
  12. May be assigned other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 18 years of age or older
  2. Eligible to work in the United States
  3. 3 years of verified experience required
  4. Must provide their own tools and toolbox
  5. Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location
  6. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
  7. Ability to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  8. Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means
  9. Valid State Driver’s License with a verifiable safe vehicle operating record
  10. Pass a background check and drug screen
  11. Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
  12. Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation

  4. Must be able to push, pull
  5. Must be able to crawl, at times in confined tight spaces
  6. Must be able to bend, stretch, squat
  7. Must be able to work at elevated heights
  8. Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels
  9. Exposure to Biohazards and/or Chemicals
  10. Exposure to outdoor elements
  11. Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
  12. Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers
  13. Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
