Job summary

Mansfield Energy Corp is looking for a trained Diesel Equipment Mechanic to maintain its fleet in Converse, TX. This position offers a chance to work on various vehicles and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of mechanical experience and a Class A CDL; ASE certification incentives are available for motivated applicants.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of mechanical experience in diesel, automotive, or construction equipment; 8+ years preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements, or ability to obtain.
  • TWIC card, or ability to obtain.
  • ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair and maintain the company’s fleet of vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil and inspecting brake systems.
  • Utilize asset management system and ensure safety compliance.

Job description

Mansfield Service Partners is looking for a skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanic in Converse, TX. This role is responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of the Company’s fleet of vehicles. Fleet consists of tractors, fuel trailers, stainless steel trailers, van trailers, tankwagons, stakebeds, and misc. equipment. This role produces direct results for the success of a 24/7 operation.

What You’ll Do
  • Follow a checklist of work orders outlined by MSP Fleet Manager and other Operation Managers.
  • Check Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports at beginning and throughout shift.
  • Utilize asset management system and parts inventory (Fleetio) and in-cab technology (SmarTruck, Samsara, WasteLINQ).
  • Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Raise trucks or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, pumping systems, meters, overfill systems, running gear, and other parts of vehicles.
  • Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and greasing equipment and parts.
  • Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Maintain inventory tracking of tools and supplies.
  • Comply with Safety, DOT, OSHA, and EPA procedures.
  • Attend all company required continuing education and training programs.
  • Collaborate with Dispatch/Operations to ensure clear understanding of repairs and maintenance needed on equipment and priority in which to complete.
  • Perform quarterly periodic maintenance and inspections on all assigned equipment.
  • Perform weekly lot checks to ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure high level operational issues are resolved completely and in a timely manner.
  • Regularly share best practices and learning opportunities with peers across all MSP teams.
  • Review parts invoices with MSP Fleet Manager for any discrepancy and collaboration for timely approval and payment.
  • Ability to diagnose/repair engine after-treatment systems, other engine work as needed, replace clutches, and repair transmissions when needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of mechanical experience (diesel, automotive, construction equipment); 8+ years preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements (or ability to obtain).
  • TWIC card (or ability to obtain).
  • ASE certifications preferred — see incentive structure below.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Having your own tools is preferred.

Hourly ASE Certification Incentives
  • Starter ASE Test Incentive: $0.25/hour for passing four ASE tests.
  • Additional ASE Test Incentive: $0.15/hour for each additional test.
  • Master-Level ASE Certification Incentive: $1.50/hour for Master-Level certification.
