Job description

Location : Chattanooga, TN

Position : Diesel Mechanic

Pay : $28.74 - 30.83 / hr (Depending on experience)

Shift : Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Sonoco, a global leader in packaging solutions since 1899, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our Chattanooga Mill. We value our talented team who drive innovation and sustainability across our diversified operations in over 34 countries.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, and basic troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities include providing maintenance using CMMS and repairing heavy diesel equipment and trailers.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Military training and/or technical school preferred
  • Experience with heavy diesel equipment and trailer maintenance
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and professionally
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts and overtime as needed
