Job summary

Retif Oil & Fuel is seeking a Diesel/Truck Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and trailers. Responsibilities include oil changes, inspections, brake work, and tire servicing, with shop cleanliness and roadside support as needed.

The role requires DOT readiness, own tools, and ability to lift up to 100 lbs in various weather and shop conditions. Join a team focused on safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 25 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in fleet maintenance/repair, specifically tractor-trailer equipment.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug/alcohol screening.
• Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including inspection standards.
• Own hand tools required (shop provides diagnostic and specialty equipment).
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in varying weather/shop conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, inspections, brake jobs, and changing lights, tires, belts, etc.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the shop.
• Be available for roadside assistance when necessary.
• Utilize equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hand/power tools, welding equipment, cutting torch, extension ladder, jack, creeper, and stool for maneuvering under/around truck & trailer.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Interact professionally with customers and coworkers; work as part of a team.

Requirements

The best candidate will have the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 25 years old
• Minimum 1 year of experience in fleet maintenance/repair, specifically tractor-trailer equipment
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug/alcohol screening
• Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including inspection standards
• Own hand tools required (shop provides diagnostic and specialty equipment)
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in varying weather/shop conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational/technical school certificate or diploma in diesel/heavy truck technology
• Class A CDL
• ASE certification(s) — Medium/Heavy Truck series (T2, T4, T5, T8 or equivalent)
• Qualified to perform DOT annual inspections
• Registered Cargo Tank Inspector & Tester (49 CFR 180.409)
• Air brake system diagnostic/repair experience
• Experience with electronic diagnostic tools (fault code reading, ECM systems)

While performing duties, you may be required to sit, stoop, lift up to 100 pounds, type, communicate effectively, manage conflict, work evenings and/or weekends, attend remote meetings, and travel.
