Job summary

aep is seeking a Fleet Technician B in Michigan to maintain and repair a range of heavy duty vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose diesel and hydraulic systems, service brakes, steering, and fuel systems while ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 2+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months. Certification via Fluid Power Society and two ASE certs within 24 months are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis with hydraulic and diesel repair experience.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on sedans, trucks, trailers and heavy equipment as described.
• Service and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders and accumulators.
• Inspect and repair cooling/heating systems, refrigeration components and related controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair steering, braking, transmission and fuel/exhaust systems.
• Drive Company vehicles and operate associated equipment as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work area in clean, safe condition.
• Document work and participate in training and knowledge transfer.
