Job summary

Lanoha Nurseries, Inc. in Omaha, NE is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of trucks and construction equipment. You will diagnose gas and diesel engines, perform shop and roadside repairs, and collaborate with operations to keep equipment running safely.

Ideal candidates have diesel tech background, tool ownership, and a valid license; CDL is a plus. Benefits include paid time off, health/dental/vision, and a 401(k) plan with matching.

Qualifications

• Educational background in diesel technology or tenure in similar positions.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics; or ability to learn with on the job training.
• Ability to work with a team mentality, redirect, and apply urgency where needed most.
• Safe lifting techniques & use of lifting support resources.
• Ability to work outside in NE weather conditions.
• Possession of own tools; journeyman level tool set or willingness to acquire.
• Drivers License required. CDL is a plus!
• Knowledge of DOT Regulations is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance of multiple types of equipment including commercial trucks, vehicles and construction equipment.
• Diagnostics and repairs on gas & diesel engines, agricultural and construction equipment
• Mechanic shop work and roadside repairs
• Team mentality; cross collaboration and prioritization with divisional leadership and operators
• Maintain a Safe work environment and safe operation of equipment
• Inventory support for shop tools, parts, and equipment
• DOT inspection support; on the job inspection training provided
