Job summary

Gator Dredging is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to service and repair heavy equipment on-site in Largo, FL. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of proven diesel mechanics experience, own tools, and be able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities include engines, hydraulics, A/C, electricals, and drive trains maintenance, plus administrative duties. We offer a competitive starting hourly pay range, comprehensive medical and retirement benefits, and a drug-free, E-Verify workplace.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of proven experience in diesel mechanics and maintenance of construction equipment.
• Must provide own tools besides specialty tools like a welder, compressor, etc...
• Current Driver's License.
• Must be open to some out-of-town traveling.
• ASE Certification a plus.
• OSHA Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and adjust gas & diesel engines.
• Repair and modify hydraulic systems and their components.
• Repair air brakes.
• Repair drive trains, electrical systems, A/C and pneumatics.
• Assist in review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedule.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and perform repairs timely.
• Complete reports, work orders, order parts and perform admin duties.
