Job summary

A leading metals company in Seguin, Texas is seeking a skilled technician to maintain and repair mobile and stationary equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience with hydraulic systems and mobile equipment, as well as a high school diploma or equivalent. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience with hydraulic systems and mobile equipment.
• 1-2 years of vehicle painting experience preferred.
• Must provide own tools and work 12 hour rotating shifts.
• Applicant must provide own tools and be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Must perform repairs safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic systems.
• Operate loaders, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
• Sandblast and paint in-plant vehicles and trailers.
• Conduct work safely in plant or shop areas with PPE.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose malfunctions on equipment and perform repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance on engines and hydraulic systems for on and off road mobile equipment (including vehicles such as trucks and trailers) and maintains stationary equipment
• Operate the following mobile equipment: loaders, forklifts, trucks, material handlers and other various equipment to troubleshoot
• Sandblast and paint in-plant vehicles and trailers
• Performs a wide range of physical activity including operating aerial lifts at various heights
• Use computers to issue parts and update comments on work orders/task lists including diagnostic programs for engines and hydraulic systems, OEM, and brake systems
• Ensure all jobs are completed in a proficient and safe manner when working within the plant and/or garage shop areas while wearing Personal Protective Equipment

What You'll Need

• Minimum 3 years experience with basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical and electronic engines, mobile equipment, and vehicles
• 1-2 years of vehicle painting experience preferred
• Relevant Military experience: Army, USMC, Navy, USAF 2T3X2, 2T3X1,2A6X2
• Must provide own tools and be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts
• Must be able to perform minor repairs and routine tasks efficiently, correctly, and safely
• Must keep clean and safe work area and comply with all plant specific rules, procedures, and duties

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
• Vocation School or previous Diesel Mechanic experience a plus.
