Position: Full-Time, Union with Benefits
Shift: Swing shift, Tuesday-Saturday, 2PM-10:30PM
Starting Pay: $33.90/hour from June 1st
Job Summary
To ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to prevent breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve fleet reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance within planned timeframes.
- Conduct FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles and equipment in compliance with regulations.
- Perform quality repairs to maximize safety and reliability.
- Address driver-reported issues promptly and efficiently.
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
- Document all work performed accurately.
- Develop proficiency in Sysco computer programs.
- Perform electrical meter testing and electrical repairs, including welding when necessary.
Qualifications
- Technical training in Medium/Heavy Duty trucks; high school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of school + 1 year of experience or 3 years of fleet maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certifications: Inspector, Brake, ASE (preferred), 609 HVAC.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient with diagnostic software and tools.
- Own tools required for repairs.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, electrical diagnosis, and repair.
- Basic welding skills.
- Understanding of DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform manual tasks.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and manual handling.
- Work outdoors, in hot/cold conditions, sometimes in confined spaces.
- Non-traditional hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
